Your resource for creating a diverse charity panel

It is very easy to go back to the same tried-and-tested speakers for your conferences time and again. But more often than not, these speakers are white men and the perspectives we hear are limited – we miss out on a huge range of knowledge and experience.

Now more than ever we need to amplify the voices of the incredible women in our sector and give a platform to Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic speakers, who remain hugely under-represented in charity and fundraising.

This site offers a resource for you to find a more diverse range of speakers. We’ve done as much of the work as possible to provide you with everything you need, and if you’d like to chat about the list you can find us on Twitter at @CharityEquality.

“Too many times I am told that it is hard to find good speakers in the charity sector who aren’t male and/or white. So this site contains a list. It’s not perfect, but it’s a start”.

Christmas – the most wonderful time of the year!

Trees are twinkling under lights and tinsel. Turkey dinners are being planned and prepped. Family and friends are gathering for the holiday festivities.

Unfortunately, Christmas may not be as wonderful if you are one of the estimated 1.3 million women affected by domestic abuse in the last twelve months.

Do what makes you happy

I had worked at the bank for all my adult life. I was in my thirteenth year of service. I had developed and grown so much during my time there working my way up to management level. Little did I know that day this was all about to change. This was the day I was told that my role was no longer required; I was going to be made redundant.
